After 35 years as a trial lawyer, I turned my focus to understanding how positive connection—both with oneself and with others—can enhance individual well-being and promote societal harmony. In 2024, I earned a Master’s in Applied Positive Psychology from the University of Pennsylvania, where my capstone research explored the concept of a Connection Mindset—a groundbreaking framework that identifies how cultivating meaningful connections can foster human flourishing. This would lead, in 2024, to the creation of the Positive Connection Initiative (PCI), a nonprofit organization dedicated to teaching, advocating for, and investigating the role of positive connections in strengthening individuals and communities.
